Follow this checklist to gain more leads

Research has shown that visitors skim websites. Modify your website using identifiable markers allowing the visitor to quickly absorb your content.

1. Is your homepage skimmable?

Methods for making your websites skimmable:

  • Avoid long paragraphs — opt for bulleted lists.
  • Make key words and phrases bold, italicized, or highlighted.
  • Use headlines (h1) and subheadings (h2) to hook the visitor.
  • Add in relevant images, icons and types of graphics to break up chunky paragraphs.

2. Do you include Call to Actions (CTA)?

A CTA is a prompt on a website that tells the user to take some specified action, for example, “Sign up!” or “learn more.” Make CTA’s easy to find and convert them into customers!

3. Are you using your own images?

By taking your own photos, you are not only building credibility but also a personal connection with your visitor, especially if it’s local. Your authentic images could be the deciding factor in whether someone seeks your services.

4. Do you lead customers through to a solution?

Know what common obstacles your customers struggle with and offer specific solutions. Different levels of products or service packages?

5. Limit fonts

A page flows smoothly when font choices are limited. This includes using bold or italicizing the font too much. Ideally, go with one font family, and then bold where necessary.

6. White space

A good amount of white space in between each section will let the visitor know where to take a breath. They can jump to each section easily skimming for that bit of info they are looking for.
